Real history, not a hand-set banner

The page is generated from actual check results: current state per site, uptime over the recent window, and the incidents that occurred with their real durations. Nobody has to remember to update it, and it cannot say 'all systems operational' while an incident is open.

Your domain, or ours

Point a subdomain such as status.clientsite.com at the deployment and the page is served there. The console itself never appears on a domain you do not control — a client domain resolves only to that client's status page.

Sharing is a decision, not a default

Each client's page is off until you turn it on, and turning it off takes effect immediately. DNS pointing at us is not consent: a page whose sharing has been disabled goes dark even if the custom domain is still configured.
